Donna Spring of Ardmore Announces Candidacy for

State Senate District 14 Seat

ARDMORE, OK — Donna Spring, of Ardmore, has announced her candidacy for the State Senate District 14 seat.

“My decision to run has come after many months of prayerful consideration and discussion with my family and others within our community,” Spring said of her announcement.

A fourth-generation Oklahoman, Spring’s background in education and years as a top-performing businessperson serve as the cornerstone of her campaign.

“I was a teacher right out of college and taught math in Oklahoma schools for five years before moving into the technology field,” said Spring.

Spring enjoyed a successful career in the technology sector, working for companies including IBM, Apple, and Compaq: managing budgets, increasing sales, and building teams.  While working in the corporate world, Spring never lost her personal passion for education. “With Apple, I traveled across our state and worked alongside teachers and administrators to advance the use of technology in our schools,” Spring recalled.  “I was able to place some of the very first computer labs in Oklahoma schools and supported local teachers as they helped Oklahoma children succeed.”

Today, Spring continues to work with a number of organizations with a focus on education, including serving on the board for the Ardmore City Schools Enrichment Foundation.  Spring is also active with an organization that assists students who are completing a high school education without any meaningful parental support.

For the past eight years, Spring has worked for and with small businesses.   She helps small businesses in Oklahoma to write business plans, develop marketing strategies, and generate sales growth; adding revenue to our state’s economy.

“As a business consultant, I am acutely aware of the opportunities and challenges facing Oklahoma businesses and have experienced first-hand the struggles of both employers and hard-working Oklahomans,” said Spring.

Spring emphasized that her business experience is especially valuable during the current economic crisis.
